SUPPORT US
You can make a difference.
Your support for our work means we can share more of the stories of Macclesfield’s remarkable silk heritage.
As an independent charity we need the support of the Friends and generous individuals and organisations to continue our work engaging children and families, using creativity for wellbeing, and restoring our amazing machines and inspiring collections.
The Trust was founded by passionate and committed local people, determined to preserve the heritage of Macclesfield for future generations.
Please help us continue this vital work.

Volunteer
We have a tremendous group of volunteers who help with everything at the museum from welcoming visitors, front of house to restoring and repairing our industrial machines.
Leave a Legacy
Victorian silk heiress and philanthropist Marianne Brocklehurst donated her Egyptology collections to the people of Macclesfield. Since the Silk Museum was founded over 30 years ago, by the generosity and commitment of a group of local supporters, we have continued to benefit from charitable support.
